Customer Review Summary

Soyuz 013 FET Black is a remarkable microphone that excels in versatility and sound quality. Having used it primarily for recording Gipsy guitars, double bass, and violin, I can confidently say it delivers impressive results across the board, including piano and drums.

In terms of quality, the construction of the microphone is outstanding, being hand-made in Russia. It has an aesthetically pleasing design, although the clamp could be sturdier; mine broke but was easily repaired with a more robust alternative. This minor drawback does not overshadow its overall excellence.

The sound reproduction is exceptional—warm yet transparent, with a focus that truly enhances the acoustic guitar’s appealing frequencies. I find it particularly effective in a mix, outperforming some Neumann models like the TLM 103 and 107. The bass is tight, and the low mid frequencies on the double bass are well represented, while the higher frequencies maintain clarity without becoming harsh, making it suitable for the attack of strings on the violin.

In terms of frequency balance, it bears similarities to the KM84, providing a well-rounded sound. Overall, this microphone is a fantastic investment, delivering a professional sound quality that is hard to match at this price point. It comes beautifully packaged in a wooden box, reinforcing its high-quality appeal. Whether for vocals, drums, guitars, or bass, it proves to be an incredibly versatile tool, perfect for various recording needs.

In summary, the Soyuz 013 FET Black is an exceptional microphone that I highly recommend for anyone seeking superior audio quality in their recordings.
