Customer Review Summary
As a professional mixing and mastering engineer, I recently transitioned to the HEDD Type 20 MK2 Left White monitors, and I must say, they have completely transformed my listening and working experience.
The moment I connected them, I was blown away by the incredible detail and clarity across the entire frequency spectrum. The high resolution from top to bottom is truly remarkable, allowing me to hear nuances in music I thought I knew inside out. The low end is punchy and fast, while the mids are clear and forward, complemented by a detailed high end that remains fatigue-free even during long sessions.
One of the most impressive aspects is the transient response and imaging, which I have rarely experienced before, even with considerably more expensive monitors. In the time I’ve used the HEDD Type 20 MK2, I haven’t received a single revision request for any of my mix or mastering work, which speaks volumes about their accuracy and reliability in translating sound.
Listening to my mixes on other systems, the translation has been flawless, further affirming my choice. I genuinely believe that these monitors have set a new standard for my work. The sound is incredibly three-dimensional and engaging, making lengthy listening sessions a pleasure rather than a chore.
However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. I’ve noticed a noticeable hiss from the amps, particularly when using an analogue connection, which can be distracting in a quiet setting. Yet, this hiss fades into the background when music is playing, so it is not a deal-breaker. Additionally, I did encounter some compatibility issues with my digital audio interface, requiring an external converter for optimal functionality.
In conclusion, the HEDD Type 20 MK2 Left White is, without a doubt, my favourite monitor to date. The sound quality is outstanding, making it a worthy investment for anyone serious about their audio work. I highly recommend these monitors for their exceptional performance and the delightful listening experience they provide.
