Customer Review Summary
I have tried numerous pairs of small monitors over the years, including brands like Genelec, Focal, Neumann, and EVE, and I often found it challenging to strike a balance between size and sound quality, especially in untreated rooms.
However, I believe I have finally found the ideal solution with the HEDD Type 05 A-CORE. After a few days of listening, I am thoroughly impressed. The clarity and level of detail are remarkable, yet there is no auditory fatigue, which is often a concern with high-quality monitors.
These speakers deliver surprisingly deep bass for 5-inch drivers, maintaining precision without overwhelming the sound, even in smaller spaces. The stereo imaging is impeccable; it’s easy to discern what’s in the centre versus what’s panned to the sides. If your budget allows, I highly recommend these monitors.
They are incredibly satisfying to use, lacking unnecessary extras or overly sensitive technology. The build quality is solid and robust, significantly better than my previous EVE 205 monitors, which I enjoyed for their sonic representation but found lacking in durability. The HEDD monitors not only match those sonic qualities but also provide an even more revealing low end, which has greatly enhanced my mixing capabilities.
