Customer Review Summary

I recently had the opportunity to test the AEA R92 microphone, and I must say, it has truly impressed me.

Initially, I purchased a pair with the intention of using them for various instruments, including guitar, kick drum, and horns. However, I decided to experiment with it on the snare drum after seeing a recommendation online, and the results were nothing short of amazing!

The design of the microphone, particularly the long ribbon, allows for effective positioning. I was able to mic both the side of the snare and the top head, which provided a fuller representation of the snare sound without needing an additional microphone on the bottom. The clarity and detail it captures are remarkable, especially the crack of the snare and the overall tone.

While I found it less effective for the kick drum and have yet to try it on guitar amps, I can confidently say that for micing drum kits, the AEA R92 is a formidable choice. If you’re in the market for a versatile microphone that excels in capturing the nuances of the snare, I highly recommend giving it a go.
