Customer Review Summary
The Sontronics Delta 2 is a remarkable microphone that delivers an exceptional sound quality, particularly well-suited for high gain electric guitar amplifiers. I found it incredibly easy to achieve impressive tones without spending excessive time on mic placement, which is a significant advantage for any musician.
However, there is a notable downside regarding the build quality. While the side panels appear quite elegant and the grille is visually appealing, the XLR connection plate leaves much to be desired. It seems poorly finished, with rough edges and visible welding marks that have not been polished away. Additionally, the plate does not sit perfectly flush with the microphone, which detracts from its overall aesthetic. Minor scratches on the surface further contribute to a rather disappointing impression of craftsmanship.
In conclusion, while the sound of the Delta 2 is outstanding, the lack of attention to detail in its construction raises concerns, especially given its price point. I had high hopes for this microphone, but ultimately, the build quality has led me to reconsider my choice.
