Customer Review Summary

Earthworks Audio PM40 is an exceptional choice for live recording and sound reinforcement, especially in acoustic jazz projects.

The sound quality is impressively balanced, even when the piano lid is closed or slightly open. When the lid is fully open, it’s important to consider the angle towards the drumset, as these are omnidirectional microphones. If the drummer plays with a subtle touch and can hear the piano without amplification, there are no issues. Should more monitoring be needed, simply closing the lid solves the problem, with minor adjustments using EQ to correct any bothersome resonances.
