Customer Review Summary

The Telefunken M80 White is a beautifully designed and robust microphone that delivers exceptionally clear sound quality, particularly for vocals. It stands out in my collection as it offers studio-like clarity that is typically absent in standard dynamic handheld microphones. With minimal equalisation, the M80 impresses with its performance.

However, the packaging may come across as somewhat cheap, reminiscent of budget karaoke microphones, and while it excels in sound quality, it may not significantly outperform more affordable alternatives like the sE Electronics V7 or Sennheiser e935/e945, which can provide similar quality at a fraction of the price. If budget constraints are a concern, exploring these alternatives might be advisable.

One notable feature of the M80 is the range of colours it comes in, along with the option to customise the microphone through the Telefunken Custom Shop, which can add a personal touch to performances. This microphone is best used with a knowledgeable sound technician, as it provides outstanding durability and sound quality that distinguishes it from other mid-range options.

In live settings, especially for powerful vocals, the M80 shines and is superior to classic models like the Shure Beta 57A or 58A. Personally, I found it to be my go-to microphone for live performances due to its impressive sound quality and striking white finish. It feels slightly heavier, but you quickly adapt to it. Overall, the Telefunken M80 White offers excellent sound clarity, making it a noteworthy choice for live scenarios.
