Customer Review Summary

Roland Rubix24 Review:

Having used the Edirol UA-25 for several years, I was eager to try the Roland Rubix24, and it did not disappoint. The build quality is impressive; it feels robust, though I noticed a slight rattle when shaken lightly. The knobs are sturdy, albeit with a minor wobble that’s hardly noticeable, and the matte finish looks fantastic on my desk, although it attracts fingerprints.

The sound quality is exceptional, with no hum from the preamps and a low noise floor. My C214 mic delivers a nice top end, and the built-in compressor adds real value, especially for streaming. The loopback function is a fantastic feature for content creators.

Using the Rubix24 with an iPad is seamless; it’s truly plug-and-play with the appropriate power supply. For my needs with GarageBand, it has everything I require and even more. The MIDI connectivity is reliable, and the audio quality of recordings is surprisingly good given the price point.

However, I must mention the drivers, which leave something to be desired. The lack of adjustable buffer sizes in the driver software can be frustrating, as it only offers preset options without clear explanations. Some users have reported difficulties with Windows compatibility, particularly with certain software. Despite these issues, when it works, the audio quality is remarkable with minimal latency.

Overall, the Roland Rubix24 stands out for its solid build, great sound quality, and useful features, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a reliable audio interface. Just be prepared to navigate some driver challenges, especially on Windows systems.
