Customer Review Summary

Having used the Neumann KH 120A in my home studio for several years, I decided to upgrade to the KH 150 WH due to a redesign of my space. My primary motivation was to replace my Sonarworks SoundID Reference DSP solution and to avoid having a subwoofer under my desk.

The setup and connection to the SPL 2Control, which is linked to an RME UCX1, was straightforward. Right out of the box, the sound was impressively powerful, though my room’s acoustics left something to be desired. To optimise the audio, I purchased a switch and connected both monitors to the router, subsequently performing the MA1 calibration. The software does have room for improvement; I found the calibration process a bit confusing, particularly not knowing when it had completed, which led me to inadvertently redo it.

The result, however, was astounding! Compared to the KH 120A with Sonarworks, the KH 150 WH delivered a much more spacious sound and greatly improved clarity across individual frequencies, making it easy to identify any mix errors. The bass response is excellent—rich yet unobtrusive. The difference between using DSP calibration and not is striking. I am thoroughly satisfied and can confidently recommend these monitors to anyone looking to enhance their studio setup.
