Customer Review Summary

The Genelec 8020 DWM stands out with its stunning looks and crystal-clear sound quality, making it an impressive addition to any audio setup. I have used these monitors in a paediatric audiometry setting, and they excelled in meeting the requirements for signal-to-noise ratio, which is crucial in clinical environments.

One of the highlights of these monitors is their balanced input, effectively eliminating issues with hum from potential ground loops. They operate within a dynamic range of 5dB to nearly 100dB SPL with remarkable clarity.

Additionally, the frequency response can be adjusted for desktop use via the DIL switches on the back, allowing for excellent compensation for the influence of the desk surface. This feature ensures a well-balanced frequency response, which I verified using a B&K sound level analyser.

While the bass response is predictably lighter, it is not as lacking as one might expect, providing a good counterbalance to larger monitors, especially when paired with an 8″ monitor and subwoofer setup.

Overall, the Genelec 8020 DWM is a superb product at every level, delivering incredible sound quality that is more than sufficient for small spaces. The monitors are compact yet powerful, and I also purchased the stands in white to complement their aesthetic. Highly recommended!
