A tribute title sequence for the Coppola masterpiece

Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece The Conversation revolves around a surveillance expert (Gene Hackman, as Harry Caul) and the moral dilemma he faces when his recordings reveal a potential murder. This is my tribute to a film that I consider one of Coppola's finest and combines powerful concepts such as murder, religion, privacy, surveillance and morality in a perfectly crafted piece. We took many licenses when depicting the period technology and elements used in the film, as our goal was to establish a contemporary point of view on a true classic, perhaps also working as a title sequence for an imaginary remake.

The project was full of visual metaphors related to the movie's plot, like the Madonna's crown made of lines resembling a sound metering device

Another key element we developed was an animated walking character resembling the movie's protagonist Harry Caul, wearing a similar iconic raincoat, which we simulated in Marvelous Designer

Another metaphor we used was a maze of cables representing the complexities of the plot and of Harry's thoughts, mixed with a religious element also present in the film
