Kali Audio IN-8 White 2nd Wave has truly impressed me as a reference monitor. Upon unboxing and setting them up, I was immediately struck by their stunning aesthetics.
The room adjustment feature on the back is incredibly straightforward and works brilliantly, allowing for an optimised listening experience.
On my first listen, I felt as if I had put on a new pair of glasses for my ears; the audio is remarkably detailed with powerful bass and crystal-clear highs.
What stands out the most is the exceptional sound resolution. The depth and spaciousness of the soundstage are impressive, revealing intricate details and hall effects.
This system offers an honest representation of audio rather than flattering it, which I greatly appreciate after 20 years in music production. I can confidently recommend this system as one of the best in its price range.
However, it’s worth noting that while the soundstage and detail retrieval are decent, it may struggle at higher sound pressure levels (SPLs). At default settings, the sound can be overly bright, but with some tuning and at lower volumes, it’s possible to achieve a satisfying sound.
Overall, these speakers have become my main monitors, and I believe there’s nothing better available at this price point!
